Dear Liz,
Your birthday is a wonderful celebration of you and all that you are. It is the perfect time to reminisce the moments that have brought you to this milestone. You are only becoming a more true and beautiful you with each year. I want you to know that I don’t just honor you today; my heart celebrates the gift of you every time I think of you. A smile is attached to your name; whenever I hear it or remember time we have spent together. You have been such a wonderful and dear friend year after year. Even when we were miles apart, the distance didn’t separate us. I am so thankful for that! Having you as a part of my life is an incredible blessing. You have a way of making people feel welcome and embraced just in the way you say hello. I know I can tell you anything and it is safe. We have both faced difficult things in the past nine years and knowing that you were just a hug or phone call away brought the silver linings into focus. I saw this quote and it reminded me of you, “Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows.” You are an amazing example of always looking to the bright side of things and keeping a positive attitude and outlook. You are a beacon of courage and truly the most beautiful woman I know, inside and out. I just love you so much!! I am so thankful for all the laughs, tears, events, afternoons, movies, phone calls, dinners, doctor appointments, cupcakes etc. we have shared. (And I still have my magic wand.) I look forward to many more memories. Thank you for being the genuine, caring, uplifting, supportive, honest, friend you are. You are one of my most precious valuables!
