From your Mom!

Elizabeth Marie was born Jan. 28th 1971. Actually she was two weeks early, probably because Art and I won a jitterbug contest the night before! We won bobby sox! But then when i think of it she did other things early too. She stood up in her crib very early. She scared me so bad when I saw her hanging onto the side rail that was just above her waist. We lowered the bed real fast. She walked at 10 months and was on the run from then on. I must tell you about her beautiful pink night gown (see picture). Having come so early I wasn't ready with clothes. Grandma Zora sent Paul to buy some gowns for $10. He came home with one for $10! But we really loved her in it. She wore it for a long time! My mom sent her two little chrochet jackets and hats in blue and pink. So pretty. They were used so much all that is left of them is the blue hat. I believe she was the one that got the double receiving blanket with tiny roses on it and crochet edging. I used that also through all the other babies that came along after her.
I remember when she was about 6 they all learned a Halloween song, and a program was put on by the kids and that song was sung. Elizabeth belted it out stronger than any one else. It was hard not to laugh. Hey, kids what was that song? I know Jay will remember it.
She went to Cascade Elementary in Orem, and I think she was 10 when she was on an all-boys basketball team. She was very good, too! being tall and lanky.
We moved to Redmond Washington in 1983, up on education hill. She was in Redmond Jr. High, then Redmond Sr. High where she was quite active in volleyball, clubs and boys!
I love you Liz. You have such a great spirit, such a fine family to be proud of, and a great husband in Rob. I pray for you and your family all the time. The Lord's greatest blessings for you are my greatest desire.
I Love you.
Mom
