Happy Birthday Elizabeth!! I can’t tell you enough how much I love you. Where do you even begin to send your love and memories to such an amazing person?
Well here goes, The 1st memories I can think of is all us girls playing Barbie's together, running around the neighborhood in Orem together, Going to the Fruit Stand together & on top of all that fun, pulling each others hair out! I had a few bald spots growing up as did you I'm sure.
Moving to Redmond was a turning point for us as I see it, I remember moving into our room together and becoming best friends! We did almost everything together. Still walking all over town together! Taking the city bus everywhere too, especially the mall and the lake.
When you turned 16 I wondered if we would do much together now that you would be dating, well for some reason you ALWAYS took me with you! You even took me on dates with you! I never felt left behind or like a third wheel! We always just had so much fun together! What amazing memories we have!
I remember when you left for college I missed you so much! I called you every Sunday and looked so forward to talking to you!
One of my sweet memories of you was when I came home after my first year of college to get married! I couldn't wait to see you, I remember running down my bedroom stairs to hug you and you were about 4 month's pregnant, I could feel your little baby bump when we hugged and I was so stunned & excited for you! It was a turning point again to the beginning or our life as MOMS! We were both still so young! What a blessing being a mom along side you and my other sisters has been! I have always counted on you for advice or just a good person to vent to. Every time I talk on the phone to you I always hang up feeling better and remembering why I love you so much!
Your “bout” with Thyroid cancer was Scary for me! (I can’t imagine how you must have felt!) I reevaluated how much I loved you and needed you in my life and prayed so much! I remember being at the Temple on Oakland and praying for your health. It was when I was trying to decide if I should come out to help you with your second round or radiation. I got a clear distinct answer which spoke peace to my heart, "Liz will be ok, she needs your help, but she will be ok!" What an amazing 3 weeks that was for me! I was honored to be there and to serve you!
Now we are reaching another turning point, that “mid life” thing and you are once again showing me the way just as you always have. With a smile on your face, a prayer in your hear, Beauty, Grace & Determination!
Elizabeth Thanks for always being there for me & for showing me the way.
I am so lucky to be able to call you my sister & friend!
I love you forever,
Rebecca
Here is a poem I found in 9th grade that reminded me of my wonderful sisters!
~My sisters and me~
My Sisters and me
The love is endless
The bond is strong.
With friends like that
You can't go wrong.
My sisters and me
Both friends and foes
What will we do next?
The crazy times
The highs, the lows.
Our smiles & tears
All over the guys.
Wherever I go
There always will be,
A seal of love
Between my sisters & me.
